PSC are proud to announce the signing of Jessica Hix to her first professional contract with Norwegian outfit Medkila IL. Having graduated from University of New Mexico the Albuquerque native was ready for a new challenge and found it in the form of a professional contract in Europe with Medkila IL.
We spoke with Jessica to get her thoughts ahead of her debut season in Norway:
What is it about playing in Norway that you are most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to continuing to play the game that I love while experiencing a new culture. I have always been in awe with the landscape and way of life in Norway. I’m quite excited to experience both first hand.
What are your hopes and goals for this season (both individually and as a team)?
My hope is to be an asset to the team both on and off the field. My personal goal is to improve as a player technically and expand my knowledge. As a team I hope that we can play as a unit and be prepared to battle every game
How has your experience been with PSC and their facilitating of the deal?
My experience with PSC has been great. Simon has made the whole process seamless. I am thankful to PSC for helping me pursue a lifelong dream of playing overseas.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or acknowledge at this time?
First, I would like to thank my head college coach Heather Dyche. She has played a huge role in my development as a player and as a person. I would also like to thank my family who has supported me every step of the way. Specifically my father, who has been my lifelong coach. Lastly, I’d like to thank my brother-in-law in law Oige Kennedy who made this opportunity possible for me.
All here at PSC wish Jessica the very best this year in Norway. If you wish to follow in her footsteps please check out our upcoming pro soccer tryouts.
