PSC are proud to announce another pro soccer combine success story as former FAU (NCAA D1) Defender Ryan Price has signed with Tulsa Roughnecks after being scouted from PSC’s 2015 Orlando combine at the Omni International hotel.
After just two days of the three day event Roughnecks Head Coach David Irving had seen enough of the Puerto Rican full back to provide a contract offer for his new USL expansion team in Tulsa. When asked about working with Irving a delighted and determined Price commented “He has a lot of experience in this league and you are able to see that right when you meet him, he’s not in the Hall of Fame for nothing.”
The 23 year old is the fifth player from our Orlando combine to receive a trial or contract offer and takes PSC’s total success story amount for 2015 to over 35 and counting. But for Ryan Price signing this contract has a more personal meaning “This accomplishment means a lot to me and my family especially since my family tragedy that occurred 2 years ago. My younger sister, who was a big part of the u18-u20s Women’s National teams, passed away when hit by a drunk driver. It had always been a huge goal of hers to play professionally. The passion, motivation and determination she had to pursue this dream of hers was an inspiration to me and everyone in her life.”
He went on to say “Its my first season playing Pro but I don’t plan on sitting back and watching everything happen like a rookie. I’m going to continue to grow each and every day on and off the field, whether its in training or on my own”
This was not Price’s first attempt at earning a professional contract after being unsuccessful at a number of combines prior to PSC’s Orlando combine “I enjoyed the experience I had with the PSC Orlando combine. I have been to other tryouts/combines and this one was by far the most professional, organized and had the best exposure for each player to show their talents for every coach in attendance. It also helps that it was a high level of play and we played at top of the line facilities. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to any aspiring Pro player”
Having earned the interest of the Roughnecks PSC facilitated Price’s signing with the club by handling contract negotiations and ensuring the best possible deal for the player “PSC staff had a great impact in my professional signing. When coach Irving offered me a contract, I did not have an agent so I ended up signing with PSC’s agency who now handle my contract details”
PSC wish Ryan and all their 30+ winter signings a successful 2015 season!
